Bob & other interested researchers,
I will be quite interested in following the development of your coverage
of Madison, Jefferson Co, IN for the following reason:
My great grandfather, William Henry Harrison, was b. 22-Jan-1846 in
Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co, PA, and d. 12-Sep-1912 in North Madison,
Jefferson Co, IN. He is buried in the Fairmount Cemetery along with his
wife, Sarah Lydia (Stoner) Harrison, b. 15-Mar-1842 in Bethlehem Twp,
Clark Co, IN, d. 29-Aug-1924 in North Madison, Jefferson Co, IN, and one
daughter, Malinda Frances (Harrison) Gordon, b. 20-Aug-1869 in Bethlehem
Twp, Clark Co, IN, d. 25-Dec-1943 in Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, OH.
Their markers can be viewed in the first row, just north of the entrance
road. Row 1, Lot 5, Spaces 1, 3 & 4. I have photos of the markers and
copies of the obituaries for Wm & Lydia which were published in the
Madison Courier. I have copies of photos of Wm & Lydia. Malinda's husband
was Hiram Gordon & they had at least 3 children, Bertha (Skirvin), Sadie,
& Martha. I have very little information on them.
It appears from family births that Wm & Lydia were in the Madison
proximity by 1882 since the last 2 of their 12 children (including 2 sets
of twins!) were born in Trimble Co, KY.
I do not know at this time when they became residents of North Madison,
or where they lived. I have only had opportunity to visit the Madison
Library once for research
Hence any discovery of information containing references to any members
of this Harrison family in the Madison area (probably limited to the
period from around 1882 to 1924) would be of interest to me.
During my search through the Fairmount Cem, I came across a double grave
marker for a James Thomas Harrison (1824-1861) and his wife Julia (Dean)
Harrison (1829-1902) with the added information that she was not buried
there, but was buried in Bushnell, McDonough Co, IL. I do not know if
this person is related my g gf at this time.
