I have not been able to locate the records (marriage, church membership) you mention. Are
the records actually online? What link do I go to access them?

What a blessing we have in the Madison/Jefferson Co. Public Library!
There are many records on this site that will help the family
historian, especially those who live far from Jefferson County.
Thank you very much to all involved with this project.

I urge those who are interested in Jefferson County records to
visit the Historical Rescue Project.
It's a work in progress, but already has a lot of good material.
The main site is
www.mjcpl.org
In particular, marriages are posted from 1851 through 1965 and for
marriages 1905 through 1965, excel downloads are available that
show parents There are also membership lists for a number of
churches, including the major Madison churches.
Hats off to Janice Barnes and the library. I've already filled in a
lot of holes in families with marriages I missed or that were in
books I hadn't gotten to.
I would note that given the volume of material, people's
handwriting and clerks that misheard names, there will be some
errors so I urge you to send corrections to Janice.
