Hello,
We have a new Obit page for Jefferson County, Indiana. You can access
it at:
http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/JeffersonObits
To give you an idea of the format, I posted a few obits that I had on my
family,
plus a few that happened to be on the same page as my family's obits.
PLEASE, do not post queries on the obit page. It is for obituaries.
Give the source
that you obtained the obit from and the date.
BTW, do not post queries on the bio page either. On the bio page, you
can be
the author, it does not have to come from a county history book. Just
list your
self as the author. You may want to put a copyright note on it so no
one will
try to publish it.
Also, my computer crashed this past week -first time it has ever done
that. I lost all
of my email in the inbox (a few hundered messages). I can only answer
general guestions
due to lack of time. I work full-time also. I am sorry that I am
unable to research
your family tree. (When I win the lottery, I will do all the family
look-ups you want).
But for now, I can only answer general guestions.
We have around 45 members on the Jefferson County mailing list. I think
that is great!
Also, we have about 40 members now in the new Jefferson County
Genealogical Society.
The members are from 13 different States. Our first newsletter will be
out at the end
of May. So if you want to place a query there, it is free to members
and $1.00 for
non-members You can send your query to Roger Kittle at
rkittle(a)seidata.com
We are excepting queries from the surrounding counties as well.
Sincerely,
Ruth Hoggatt
