Hi Bill,
I checked the DAR cemetery listing and they don't even list the BRISBEN
cemetery. Wonder why? I also wonder if there are only Brisben's buried
there . You mentioned WILSON Cemetery.....The Brisben family married
into
the Wilson family.
I was in the Ripley County home page, and they have St. Magdelena listed
including the burials, with a note:
St. Magdalene Catholic Church Cemetery Records
New Marion, Shelby Twp., Ripley County, Indiana
St. Magdalene Catholic Church was moved in 1941 from it's location
in
southern Ripley County, when the US army needed the land to build the
Jefferson Proving Ground, to North Madison and placed across
the street from St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Curator: Melvin E. Meisberger Versailles, IN 47042
These interments are current through January 25, 1998.

Linda,
...............Does not list St. Magdelena
The Library's list shows 29 cems.
It is impossible for me to tell you the exact location of Brisben Cem
from the map I have, since it is only indicated by a written-in "cross"
and a reference number, but it APPEARS that it is located north and east
of Fairmount Cem and also north and west of McLaughlin (or Wilson) Cem.
I seem to remember that almost all of the cemeteries there on the east
side of Michigan Road butted right up to one-another. I guess it would
make sense since several of them were created by relocating remains from
other locations. There would be no need to leave "extra" unused ground
for future burials in each cemetery.
Possibly the 1941 DAR reading "Cemetery Records of Jefferson Co, IN" will
include a listing of the Brisben cemetery also. I only copied the single
page in Fairmount's listing which had my g gparents on it. There were
definitely more pages though, since the page I copied was p. 116, and
Fairmount had 1093 names listed. That would figure about 26 pages for
Fairmount only.
Well, I've jabbered long enough.
Glad to have been able to help in some small way!
