Received a nice reply from Wilma Champion (Fairmount Cemetery)
with the page # and lot # for my gggggrandfather,
George Green, (1787-1865).
Now I need to lookup where I can obtain his death certificate? Is it
available somewhere?
I have not been on the IN GEN WEB site recently as I've found a cousin
through ROOTS and we have been searching all over NYGENWEB.
What a delight to come back to INGENWEB, so much hs been added over the past
three years. Here!, Here! A big thank you to all those who make it possible.
I found a reference to the Olive Branch Methodist Church, Madison Twp.
Jefferson, Co. The trustees listed for the year 1851 are: John Stivers, John
Bowen, George Green, Lewis Mickle and Eli Allen.
I believe this George Green is the same one found in Fairmount, as his
grandson, John B. Green was a Methodist minister in Indiana.
Another point that leads me to believe this, is on George Green's father's
will (Thomas Green- Madison Court House Will Book Page 297 July 30, 1847) his
exceutor is JOHN BOWEN.
And the third point, in earlier times there is a trustee named, William
Woodfill and "Woodfill" is George Green's wife's maiden name.
Anyone know of this church? Where might I find some information? Would love
to find the house of worship for my Green family.
