No offense taken (on my part), merely observation. I don't think anyone
was faulting you or your posting of the story. We're all glad that LDS
is going to attempt to put their information on-line, just surprised by
the statement about older people. I would say Ms. Parker just wasn't
thinking before making the statement.
Yes, there are plenty of oldsters who won't go near a computer. My
husband is one of them. But, there are plenty of youngsters who won't
either! Of my six children, only 2 are able to use a computer
comfortably. Guess her remarks were just an "Old Notion" which needs to
be dispelled.
Thanks for posting the article. I'm sure we are all anxious for them be
make progress on this enormous project.

I agree with your comments. I'm no spring ch.....well never mind.
But it was not my intention to agree with any comments made in the
article, only to inform others that this valuable service may be
available to those of us who cannot travel great distances for
information.
I am writing to Katie Parker, [ parker(a)du2.byu.edu ], the NewsNet
Staff Writer who wrote the article, to voice my opinion regarding
the relevance of Darrington's comment.. Her e-mail address is
provided above and I encourage more letters to her as well.
Thanks for bringing this issue to my attention, (I was momentarily
blinded by the prospect at the time....I'm a gene-addict). I'm
sorry if I offended anyone with my previous posting.

M ichelle -- thank you for calling attention to that article.
However, having read it, I find Darrington's comments about the
elderly being uncomfortable using the internet patronizing and
insulting, as well as inaccurate.
