I speak as one who is only mid-elderly, and who has personally constructed
almost
all of his computers, and is only troubled by the internet when greedy
entrepreneurs spam his precious email.
As for ETHELFLA, she was a computer programmer in the early 70's and has been
online since the first days at Compuserve and Prodigy. She spent her early
genealogical years at the wonderful dusty old courthouse in Madison and in the
massive files in Salt Lake City. Her kind and generous help has been crucial
to many other researchers with less experience.
Most people would be surprised at the advanced years of many of the people
with whom we correspond daily, and who assist us so graciously.
