According to the DAR, our ancestor, Revolutionary War Veteran William HALL
(1758-1844) was buried in DEMAREE's Graveyard, apparently a very small family
graveyard. Does anyone have a record of other people who were buried there?
We would like to discover why William was laid to rest in an unrelated family
plot? Perhaps poverty? Perhaps distant family connection?
The only connection we can find is that some of William's grandchildren
married BANTA people whose great-grandmother had been a DEMAREST / DEMAREE.
Is that a stretch of the imagination?
Does anyone know of other DEMAREEs in Jefferson County in 1844, other than
Jesse? -- other family members (with differing surnames) who might have had
the family authority to grant William's burial in DEMAREE's graveyard?
Thanks very much
