Hi Listers!
Through some wonderful assistance I have learned that my husband's great
grandparents are located in the Dupont Cemetery.
Joseph Downey and his wife Elizabeth Jordan Downey.
I believe other grandparents are there also - John Newton Graham and Margaret
E. Downey Graham. (Perhaps John's parents, also.)
Does anyone have a listing of this cemetery (I know it is large) and the
location of any of these markers?
Any help is appreciated.
Karen
Dear Listers,
My family, the FISH family, lived on Big Creek, north of Madison,IN. in
Jefferson County from about 1820-1905. My great grandfather was JOHN
HICKS FISH and I'm wondering--does anyone know of the HICKS family? My
family was Methodist but from a Madison Courier 1940s description of the
Big Creek Methodist Church it was arranged like a Quaker meeting hall.
In an Indiana history book, read that liberal Quakers were called
"Hicksites". I'm trying to see--could there be a connection in my
family?
Thanks for any help.
