Hello,
As many of you know, the JCGS will be having a Family
History Day on May 5th, at the Madison-Jefferson County
Public Library, between 9:30am and 3:00pm.

In the morning, Bev Kirschner Braun will be speaking on
several topics about creating heritage albums. And in the
afternoon, folks are welcome to browse the booths set up
around the auditorium. My booth topic will be "Genealogy on
the Internet".
I had this idea that perhaps I could set aside about 45
minutes for my Jefferson County genealogy Internet friends
to join us at my booth for the Family History Day, via the
Southeastern Indiana Chat Room, which I created a long time
ago, but have never really used. I thought that perhaps some
of the folks at the workshop might share some of the same
ancestors/family as the Internet researchers, and this might
be a way to facilitate getting together.
Before I decide to do that, I want to make sure it is
feasible. Does anyone have any ideas on this regarding
structure as we will only have one computer on our end at
the library and it will also depend on who is at my booth at
that time? Perhaps, the folks at the library first giving
who they are searching for?
Also, it would probably be a good idea to test the chat room
out beforehand. It is at:

I would really appreciate some input. I will be in the chat
room from 11:30am-12:30pm and 8pm-9pm today to see how the
chat room holds up on the technical side and to listen to
ideas.
Thanks, Ruth
