Hi all!
Just a note to let you know that after dinner last night I quickly typed
part of a chapter from an old Indiana history book into a new page on my
Denton site. The page is called, "O Pioneers!" and is about the early
day-to-day pioneer life of Abe Lincoln's family in Indiana between 1816 and
1830. The book from which the information comes is an extremely readable
and enjoyable book published in 1966 and I so enjoyed it that I wanted to
share this vivid description of what it was like at that time to be among
the first of the pioneers.
I didn't even remember until I was finished that yesterday was
President's Day! Now I'm glad I took the time. I hope you all enjoy reading
it. It was typed in so fast that there are probably typos, but they will
wait for me. The url is below and the particular page is toward the bottom
of the section titled, "The People and Their Stories."
Blessings!
Sue
