My earliest Jefferson Co. Green was Thomas Green of ShelbyCo, KY who died in
Madison Twp. (Probate Book G-297: 7/30/1847 )
His son George Green was in 1851 a trustee of the Olive Branch Methodist
Church.
he appears in both the 1850 & 1860 census.
George's son, James M. Green, 1860 census, a tobacconist is said to have
been a staunch member of the Official Board of old Wesley Chapel.
James's son, Rev. John Benjamin Green, left IN circa 1875 for California, to
spread the Methodist faith.
Many of my Green's are buried in Fairmount Cemetery.
