There was a button factory in Madison in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I
have not researched its dates. My grandfather's brother Paul Hopper
(1894-1989) and sister Beulah Hopper ( 1890-1979) both told me they worked
there. The 1907 Madison directory shows them both working at the button
factory. The 1909 directory lists Paul Hopper as working at McKim and
Cochran. I suspect that might be the factory's actual name. I'm sure if you
checked the directories, you could determine the factory's location and
perhaps its dates. If you had access to microfilms of Madison Couriers, it
would take some time, but I would look for advertisements by the factory.
