I apologize to everybody for my message yesterday with the garbled format. I
have never had that happen to me before. It may have something to do with my
recent upgrade to AOL 9.0, but I posted the same message to another Rootsweb
mailing list and it was okay.
Apparently on AOL 9.0, if you right click on the message window, you can
compose in plain text. But if you copy and paste text from Microsoft Word, can
you convert that text into plain text? AOL Tech reps told me no, but I will try
it here. It if comes back garbled again, I will need help. Appreciate your
patience. Here's the message again:
Regarding my search for the parents of Captain John ARMSTRONG of Jefferson
Co. IND who was born in Havre de Grace, MD ca. 1786-1790, and who grew up in
Montgomery Co. KY.
I may have found the second marriage of his widowed mother. There is a
marriage of William CARSON and Elizabeth ARMSTRONG in Bourbon Co. KY 19 DEC 1798 .
Another source says 1795 (I need to see the original to see what the year
really is). Does anybody know if John's mother's name was Elizabeth?
Note: Montgomery Co. KY formed 1796 from Clark Co. KY.
Clark Co. KY formed 1792 from Bourbon Co. KY and Fayette Co. KY.
