Good Morning Don:
I will try and give you a few clues as to this connection in my tree. I found my
GGGrandfather George Washington Phillips in Jennings County, Indiana, he went to Jefferson
County, Indiana and married a Isabelle Lawhead (DOB March 20, 1829) I found her on the
1850 Census ( Jefferson County-Graham Township-Page 246B-line 40- family 312- dwelling 303
age 17) living with a Thomas Evans (age 22) and his wife SPELLING NOT VERY CLEAR (
Leonissiam)(age 20). After marriage they went to Hendricks County, Indiana and that is
where they raised their family. On the 1880 Census record it is stated that Issabell
claimed that her Father was born in PA. And her Mother was born in Maine. In later years
they moved to Jasper County, Illinois and Washington died there in 1888.
Now Isabella now remarried a Israel Ruby there in 1890. On the marriage certificate Book
D-Page 162 it states that Isabella was born in Pittsburg, Pa with no date of birth but it
says she is 61. And her parents are John Lawhead and Mother Massie Young. This is a type
written copy of the original and I know that these forms COULD have been misspelled as I
have seen it happen very often. Notice how the name of Isabelle is spelled in very
different ways on each of these records.
It looks like to me, we might have a match, what do you think?

<< File: ATT00001.htm >> Mr. Phillips,
My name is Don Young, and while attempting to update the
Young Genealogy, I came across your work on line. In it
you show a Massie YOUNG, ID 13149, married to a John
LAWHEAD. In my line I have a Marcy YOUNG born 26 Aug
1797, Lincolnville, ME the dau of Elijah YOUNG and Debbora HEAL. They left Maine between
the 1800 and 1810
census and settled Jefferson County, IN. Marcy married a
John LAWHEAD. Is it possible that the both of us are
referring to the same person? Do you have any additional
information that might help?
Thank you
Don Young
