Mr Higgins,
Don't know if you've tried this, but you may want to see if there is any
information in a Funeral Home Registry in the Genealogical Library of the Jay County
Historical Society in Portland. I found the funerals for my ancestors in a registry they
had for Baird Funeral Home (1904 and 1908). If you find out the day of the burial and the
funeral home that conducted it, you may be able to find which cemetery she is buried in by
perhaps contacting the funeral home (if they are still in business and kept records).
There are funeral homes in Portland that have been there for over 100 years.
Otherwise, I suggest you may try to find out what church she may have attended, as that
could provide clues if she is buried in the church cemetery. Also, as was the case of my
paternal great grandfather, the family couldn't afford a marker and if it wasn't
for church records, I wouldn't have known what cemetery he was in (because of no
marker, I don't know where his burial site is in the cemetery :-( ). Since not all
cemeteries have been documented/photographed/registered
by http://www.findagrave.com, alas, you may never know where she is buried.
Additionally, if there was a road or highway put in near the original burial site, they
may have moved her and no records still exist. That is what I have found out about my
maternal great great grandparents (road came through and so far I have not been able to
find original cemetery records of where we think they were buried).
If she was the widow of a veteran, it's possible she in buried in the same plot as her
husband (I have no idea how long they have done this, but I know my mom is eligible to be
buried in the same national cemetery plot where my father is buried).
At least you have a record of when she died. That is more than some folks are able to
find about some of their ancestors!
I know this can be daunting, but good luck.

I am looking for information on Julia SCHOONOVER who died in Jay County on
April 2, 1890. She was 63 years old at the time of death. No burial date or
cemetery is listed on her death certificate and I am trying to find out
where she was buried.
She had been married to William Fuller and Fuller was also the name listed
on her death certificate. She had also been married to John Perl.
Thank you for any help.
Trey
