Hi all. Several months ago, while researching for a client, I stumbled
across an 1866 divorce case involving Elizabeth and Charles Burdett. I
remembered having researched this couple 2 or 3 years ago, for another
client, so I copied the divorce. I have not been able to locate that past
client whom I researched this couple for. The divorce case has been sitting
on my desk for several months, and it is time for it to go (like many other
things on my desk. Lol). Rather than simply throw this document in the
trash, I decided to scan it, and upload it to my gallery on Footnote. That
way, I can toss it in the trash with a clear conscious. It will be on
Footnote forever, so it may be found in the future. Anyone connected, or
interested in viewing this 1866 Jay County divorce case, may do so by
clicking the link below, which will take you to the first page of this 6
page document. You can then follow the thumbnails at the bottom of the
screen to view the remaining 5 pages. It is an interesting case, even if it
isn't your family. Apparently, Charles had abandoned her, and took up with
a woman by the name of Mary Walker, and had a bastard child with her. Here
is the link to the first page.

While you're there, be sure to click the "Footnote" link in the top, left
corner of the screen to go to the main Footnote page, and check out
Footnote. It's a new, great, upcoming genealogy site.
