Hi all. A couple of days agao someone posted a short 1916 newspaper article
regarding Roy E. BROWN, who was a grocer in Redkey (Jay Co.), who was found
dead, with three bulletts in his back. He was found dead in April 1916. He
was last seen Jan. 29, 1916. The question was asked by the person posting
the original message, who this Roy BROWN was. While at the courthouse today
in Portland, I checked for additional articles about this. I found several.
I do not have time to type and post them right now; but will do so over the
coming days. I will say this much...... Roy BROWN was 19 years old when he
was killed. He was buried in Chillicothe, OH. His parents lived in
Ridgeville at the time of his disappearance and death. His father was a W.
C. BROWN.
There are some interesting articles surrounding this entire event from the
time of his disappearance, until after his body was found. I will post
these to the list as time permits.
I also copied a few obits from 1916, which I will also post to the list.
One of these obits was for a William H. BADDERS. I saw someone on the
ECI-WCO list discussing the BADDERS family yesterday and today; so this obit
caught my attention when I came upon it. I will get it posted to the list
soon.
