Hi all. Once again, I was notified today of a problem accessing the
database on the webpage. The database has been nothing but trouble for me
since I took over the webpage a few years ago. So, this time, I decided to
do away with the searchable database. No worries! All of the data from the
database is still there. I have extracted all of the data from the
database, and it is in various groups. In other words, you will see a link
for "Cemetery Records"; a link for "Probate Records", etc. All of
the
records from the database are there. They are no longer in a searchable
database; but this shouldn't really be much of a problem. When you click
the various links, the records for each category are alphabetized by last
name. No real big deal. Having the records this way will mean that there
should never be a problem with being able to access those records again,
unless there is a problem with the Rootsweb server.
When you go to the Jay County webpage now, you will see a link near the top
for "Records". If you don't see this, you may need to hit your refress
button on your webbrowser. Once you click the "Records" link, you will see
a list of the various record types. Click the links to view the records for
each category. Keep in mind, most of these are large files, and will take a
few moments to load; especially if you are using dial-up.
