Subject: [INJAY] Martha B. A. DORR
Hi Everyone,
I have a mystery that hope some one can help me with. While at the Allen
Co.
Public Library I found an odd listing in the marriage records of Jay
Co.
This is from the "Jay Co. IN Records of Marriages, 1837-1883, compiled by
the Genealogical Records Committee, Mississenewa Chapter, DAR, 1962".
Original record in Book H-16, pg. 122. The following entry:
Groom: Jarvis S. DEVOSS
Bride: Martha B.A. DORR
DOM: 10 Oct 1868
Minister: David B. MCCAIN
Note: Martha B.A. DORR got the consent of Henry MCCOLLISTER, guardian.
Henry MCCOLLISTER is my gggg-grandfather. I have no idea who Martha B.A.
DORR is, or what her connection to my family is.
Is anyone familiar with Martha B.A. DORR or the DORR family? How about any
DEVOSS researchers?
Thanks for all of your help.
Frank McCollister
