Hi Rick - You wrote in December 2002-- << researching the WILEY name and am
trying to track down 12 brothers that lived in Indiana in the mid 1800's
through possibly the present. Their parents names were Samuel Wiley and Agnes
Nancy Porter. The 3 brothers I have found so far are: Thomas, Robert and
Henderson. I descend from Thomas and family information has it that there
were 16 children in this family including 3 sets of twins.

arriving in Wabash. I know my direct line, Thomas, ran a ferry on the Wabash
River c1844>>
mmhh here - I neglected to follow up on this. Have you found any more on
them?
1 - Did you find any more names of the 12 brothers and any of the wives?
2 - That many males in one area? Or were they spread out?
3 -Re father Samuel possibly dying in OH - do you know if they had
connections in Ohio?
I have lots of mixed-up WILEYs and PORTERs - My ancestor Samuel Wiley m.
Sarah Porter in 1847 in Co. Donegal, Ireland (Londonderry diocese - they were
Presby.) and emigr. to US right away. They setttled in west central OH in
Mercer Co. on the INdiana line in 1857 per church record and fam. Bible (on
which is imprinted WYLIE).
Their oldest son Moses Wiley went to Roseville, Muskingum/Perry Co. 'way east
& a little south in OH----he must have joined relatives? Married there to
Sarah COWEN/COWAN (children?).
In Muskingum/Perry Co., OH, there is a Rebecca WILEY who m. a Moses PORTER in
1846. (LDS Anc.File 4SMS-HM - sealed to spouse - - who submitted?)
-------------
Alexander PORTER m. Isabella WILEY dau of my Samuel's bro. Joseph WILEY.
Samuel's wife, Sarah, was sister of Alexander.
I hope someone sees a connection to some of these people and will let me
know. Thanks! -- MMHH
