Hi all. My wife and I finished the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Dunkirk today. This is the old
Dunkirk cemetery. About 250 stones in the cemetery. We were able to read most of them.
Only a couple were not readable; and a few had been broken off at the base of the stone
and are missing. We found about 50 stones that were not included in the transcriptions
from the list that the Genealogy Society has. Not sure when that list was done, or who
did it; and I don't mean to sound like I am critizing those who did that list. It may
have been done by WPA or DAR years ago. I only point out the fact that we did find about
50 that weren't on the list to try to be helpful to those who think they may have
ancestors there and have seen that list; and assumed they weren't there because they
weren't included on the list.
I will have the cd ready of all of the photographs of all stones in the cemetery ready the
first of the week.
