Happy to hear the CD is ready, I am eager to see what the Restorer has done
to cleanup the Cemetery, the resting place of my ancestor William FINCH 1784
MD-1886 Jay Co., as well of so many of his family and friends. What a pretty
spot this cemetery is especially in the fall when the colors are so beautiful.

Hi all. As you all have probably guessed by now, the INJAY list has been down for several days now. One of the Rootsweb list servers has been down for maintenance; and, of course our list was apparently on that server. We seem to be back up and running now. If you posted a message to the list in the last few days, you may wish to re-post it. However, it is my understanding that the mail sent while the list was down should still be delivered. So you may want to wait to see if the message appears on the list. If you did post a message within the last 4 or 5 days and it doesn't appear on the list before morning; then I would suggest you re-post your message.

Hi all. I just finished photographing all of the stones in Finch Cemetery and Bost Cemetery. Both of these are located in Jefferson township, and both were restored recently. These two small cemeteries are located very near one another. All stones in both cemeteries are photographed, and will be included on the same cd. Cost will be $20.00 plus shipping for this cd.
A list of all of the cemeteries I have photographed so far is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~injay/research/rexbertram.htm . Finch and Bost have not been added to that list yet, but, as mentioned, this cd is available. Actually, I am naming the files (photographs) now, but will have it completed tonight.
I had originally planned on puting New Mt. Pleasant on the cd with Finch. However, New Mt. Pleasant is being restored now, and I don't want to photograph the stones there until it is complete. I am hoping to get it photographed before cold weather, but have to wait until the restorer completes his work there. Also, the fact that Finch and Bost are located so closely together was another reason I decided to put them on the cd together.

I'm researching McGarrell and Rohlfing. Both families lived primarily
in Dunkirk, with a bit of Redkey residence thrown in. The families came
together when Lawrence McGarrell married Helen Rohlfing in 1914 in Dunkirk.

Dear Elaine,
So glad to hear from you again. We are definitely related in the same line.
Jacob and Phoebe had Samuel Ward; Abraham and Amos. I am thru Abraham's line.
Abraham married Lydia Huffman. They are buried in the Plum Tree cemetery
near Warren, Indiana. I know Jacob died at Abraham's house, but don't know where
he is buried. Jacob's wife Phoebe (I think) in Jay County and I don't know
where she is buried. Jacob was born in 1776 in Maryland. His parents are from
PA and I think they went to Maryland because of the Rev. War. Next census I
find Jacob's mother, she is a widow and living in PA probably back with her
own family. I am doing all of this from memory as I am not on the big computer
and that has all the info.
My email is treeseek2@aol.com......we need to exchange info or compare our
paperwork. Thanks....Janet
Hi Lee,
I would be interested. I have finally moved. Not all unpacked yet.

Hi all. List has been somewhat quite for a while, so thought I'd see what I could stir up by suggesting a roll call. Everyone take a moment to post a message regarding what families in Jay Co. that you are researching. Maybe we can make some connections.

Hi Joan, I came across some Marriage License Issued from Dearborn County, IN.
Eliza Birdewell and John Snell Sept. 1880, Thomas A. Birdzell and JA Conwell
Oct 1869 and John Bridwell and Lillie Conger July 1880. Hope you can use them.

Hello Joan, Yes I do remember hearing from you in the past, about our lines.
As you know a lot gets tangled in the pursuit of our roots. Especially when
you do lateral lines. I have made a note and put your mail in my Jay File notes.
If I remember right Leander was replaced as guardian of Michael? Maybe when
Elizabeth died? Do you have a date and place of her Death?
I just love our hobby or is it a passion? Lorraine
I sent this post to your e-mail it bounced, so am sending to list.
Dear Elaine,
Nice to hear from you. My last name is Miller also and I am originally from
Huntington, Indiana. Moved down to Arkansas about 25 years ago. Will always
in my heart be a Hoosier.
Your Samuel and Jacob are the same. The Phoebe Sutton that I have is married
to Jacob Sutton. Jacob was born ca 1776 in MD and they had Abraham, Samuel
and Amos. I don't show that Jacob had any daughters. I don't have my
paperwork right in front of me and it is late tonight, but I will be glad to give you
information I do have.
I had heard that Phoebe maiden name was like Varen? something like that.
My sister lives in Ft. Wayne. Will email more later.
Thanks, Janet Miller
I have Mary Ann Atkinson, second wife of William Finch The couple were
married in Jay Co., 16 January 1853, they had several children. I believe Wm. was a
California State senator. Hope this helps you.
