I don't think it's likely that John Hardin Durham was the father of Frances and
Fannie Durham. Reason: John H. Durham is listed with his wife "Eliza E.
(Trueblood), in the 1900 Census for Jackson County, Indiana showing that they had been
married for 23 years (1877). He could not have married Mary E. Beeker, and then divorced.
Eliza E. is shown to have had 7 children with 4 still living. The four children are
listed along with Albert Durham, age 31 and "single" also listed as
"son" to John H. Durham.
Plus, if John Logan Durham is a son of John Hardin Durham and Frances is a daughter of
John Hardin Durham - you have brother marrying sister. Just doesn't sound right.
John (Hardin) Durham also appears in the 1880 Census for Casey County, Kentucky, with wife
"Ellen" (Eliza Ellen Trueblood) and with children Albert, age 10, William O, age
8, and Morton, age 2, all born in Indiana. Morton Durham's birth record in Casey
County, Kentucky (listed as O.P.M. Durham), shows his birth as 18 June 1878. Morton
Durham, age 21, is listed with John H. Durham and Eliza E. (Trueblood) in the 1900 Census
for Jackson County, Indiana (Carr - District 67).
I think you need to look for another Durham living in Jackson County, Indiana who married
Mary E. Beeker.
By the way, in the 1870 Census for Jackson County, Indiana, (Carr), you find Jackson
Durham (most likely John H. Durham), listed with wife "Ellen" (I believe Ellen
to be John's first wife - Sarah Ellen Daugherty), and children: Ada, age 3, and
Albert, age 1 (b. Feb 1869), living near Jasper and Sarilda Weddle. Albert Durham is
listed with this family in the 1870, 1880 and 1900 Census.
