Within the next couple of weeks, I am going to start moving all of the old
queries to the automated board so they are easier to search. Before I get
started, I will send out an e-mail message to everyone who is on the mailing
list for receiving automatic notification of new queries so you can
unsubscribe yourself if you don't want to receive notification of these older
queries.
Something else you might want to check out is a new page on the Indiana GenWeb
site where you can search all of the archived e-mail that has been sent to the
various Indiana county mailing lists, including the INJACKSO-L list. The main
page is at at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ingenweb/index.html
The link to the mailing list search engine is at the bottom of the second
table from the top of the page (under the waving Indiana flag) and is called,
"Indiana Mailing List Search Engine." If you want to go to the search engine
page directly, here is the URL:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ingenweb/inlists.html
Once again, Beverly Weddle has gone out of her way to provide some great
Jackson County information. She recently sent me a listing of all known
cemeteries in Jackson County by township and it has now been posted at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~injackso/cem_listall.html
Thanks a bunch, Beverly!!
Also, we now have automated, searchable boards for posting Jackson County
biographies, obituaries, wills, and military pension information. You can
link to these boards from the main page of the Jackson County GenWeb site, or
go to them directly with the following URL's:
http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/JacksonBios
http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/JacksonObits
http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/JacksonWill
http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/JacksonPens
Please feel free to start using these boards. I think they're pretty
straightforward to use, however if you run into any problems using them,
please let me know. I'm going to give it a whirl myself and try condensing
down some of the military pension information I got from the National Archives
for one of my ancestors and post it on the Military Pensions page.
It's possible to set up similar pages for bible records and deeds. I'm
willing to get those types of pages set up too if people think they will use
them. Let me know what you think.
Well, that wraps up my update. Happy holidays to all of you and good luck
with your research!
