Hi Carol,
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I am aware of all the different spellings
of Maybee: Mabe, Mabee, Mabie, Maybe, Maybee, etc. I do belong to a Maybee
Association, and have received a great deal of information on my Maybee
family from them, and do have the family line going way back. However, I
lost this one particular Daniel Maybee in Jackson County, IN after the 1850
Census.
I was not aware of the many Mabe's in Brown County, but will check it out.
I have never known why Daniel and his wife Mary (Moore) left Jersey County,
IL and went to Jackson County, IN. Perhaps they had relatives there - or
in Brown County.
Again, many thanks for your reply. I appreciate all the help I can get!

Yep! Maybe is one unusual name, however the way I have found it in
records
in Jackson along with Brown Co., is "Mabe" and pronounced "Maybe". I
though
it was MABE but was corrected a long time ago. Are you aware there
are
many
Mabes' in Brown?
Carol
