Theresa,
Have you posted this on Lawrence and Monroe County rootsweb? There are
several books on the Limestone Quarries in southern Indiana. Also check
with the Monroe County Public Library and the Bedford Library they may be
able to direct you to the information you are looking for.

Subject: Stone Quarries
I have several relatives who worked at the stone quaries. On their
death
cert. it lists "Stone Sawer" as occupation. One relative in
particular,
Benjamin K. Weddle (wife Mary Ann Utterback), this would have been around
the 1870s to 1900-1910 lived in Carr Twp. then Bedford, Lawrence County and
back to Carr Twp. in Jackson County
Is there any remaining history on the stone quaries, who owned them, where
they
were located, any employee records remaining?
I am tring to find out more about the lives of Benjamin and Mary Ann
Weddle.
Thanks,
Theresa Weddell
