I think the courthouse is in Brownstown in Jackson co., IN.
When I was there a few years ago, they were very nice and would make copies
of records for a price. The drawers where the original records of estates
and wills were kept, were on the wall and pretty high. You had to climb a
ladder and pull the drawers out, which could be pretty precarious when you
were up at the top. They do have records in the order books and other books,
but those drawers contain a lot of info. I found receipts and signed
affidvits that told a bigger story. Roberta Turpin Willett

I am new to this list.
I am planning a research visit to Jackson County the end of July. I have
been
trying to find what reseources are available, but there does not seem
to
be
too much on the web. I would appreciate any assistance anyone may
give
me.
I am planning on going to the Courthouse and Library in Seymour. What
other
resources are available?
Is there any history of The Brownstown Banner?
Names I am researching: BRODHECKER, hELLER, SEIDEL, SHAFFERMAN, SHEPARD,
HOLMES, DURLAND,GOBLE, LUCAS, SANDERS, SOWDER, KLEWITZ, GARIS.
Associated names: APPLETRAD, PRUDEN, MEYERS,DOERR, OLIVER, BURRELL,
ROBERTSON, DAY, GIBSON.
Thank you for any help given.
