Thanks Cindy.........and all who have responded.
I have two books published by the Indiana University Press. On is *Indiana
Place Names* (publ. 1975) and the other is *Needmore to Prosperity - Hoosier
Placenames in Folklore History* (publ 1995).
The second one is a greatly updated version of the first.
It also lists five - but one in Huntington Co. and none in Jefferson.
(If I can look up an old Indiana name for anyone - let me know)
I really don't think my grandfather lived anyplace but Jackson county after
his marriage - until 1908 when he apent a 'short' time in 1908 in Bedford,
Lawrence county - but was 'back on the farm' in Jackson County by 1910.
His first five children were all born in Jackson Co. between Jun 1905 and
Oct 1915.
It's probably one of those things that will always be a mystery...........

Subject: Re: INJACKSO-D Antioch
I found Antioch listed in these counties; Switzerland, Jay, Greene,
Jefferson and Clinton. Perhaps it may not be safe to assume that the
location mentioned was in Jackson county. I have found from reading the
"100 Years Ago Today" column in the North Vernon Plain Dealer that many
localities were mentioned that were NOT in Jennings county. This is the
site I used
http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/townco.cgi
I am originally from Jackson Co., I don't recall an Antioch ever
mentioned, but that doesn't mean one never existed.
