Hi Group,
Just a quick note to let you know that Jackson County has a new look. Hopefully you'll
like what you see! If there is something missing from the web that you know was there,
just let me know. I'll try to get it posted as soon as possible. I've added some
additional information and would like to get information from all of you.
If you have a family file that you'd like to add to "First Families", please
send it to me in an .rtf format so I can get it posted. Please do not send information on
anyone living. The cutoff for birth dates on First Families is 1920. If your ancestor was
in Jackson county prior to 1900, then you can submit your family file. Please do not
submit gedcoms.
I have a military section that looks pretty bare right now! If you have soldiers that
served in the revolutionary or civil wars, you are welcome to send me their information.
If you have rosters of troops that were mustered in Jackson County, I'd love to have
those to post.
In the Court section, there will be a place for transcribed wills, etc. Please send those
in too!
In the births & deaths sections there are places to add your ancestors names and
dates.
In the Marriage records section, there are places to add your ancestors names that married
in Jackson County. If anyone has a list of marriages for this county, please submit it to
me to post on the web.
I posted the cemetery records that I have, but there are many cemeteries in Jackson... If
you have a list of names and dates of people buried in Jackson County, please send those
in. If you only have your family members names & dates, you are welcome to send those
in as well. When sending cemetery records in, PLEASE... put the name of the cemetery and
the county name in the subject line. I have 4 genweb sites, so I may get confused about
where a name goes!
The search engine is not up yet, but I'll try to have it up by tomorrow.
If you find broken links, please let me know so I can take care of them.
Looking forward to working with yall for a while!
Thanks again & nice to meet you!
