Some of my family came from Owen Twp., Jackson Co. BUT it later became a
part of Lawrence Co.
SO look in Lawrence Co. Records while you are so close to that area.
Everything is in Bedford. Historical Society, Court House, Library
collection. Roberta Turpin Willett , Rose City, MI

Subject: [INJACKSO] Few more questions
I have a few more questions about my up coming trip to Jackson
County.
There
are quite a few of my relatives that I don't have exact dates, or
even any
idea of them. Do I need to find these before I go to the health department
to get the records? I've seen talk of book numbers, and page numbers, are
these books at the library or the genealogical society? Do both libraries
have old newspapers where I might find the obits? My family came from Owen
Township. I've found out that my ggg-grandfather is buried in Davis
Cemetery, but I don't see it on the map. It also says that he was a
Baptist,
is it possible that that same church is still there today? If so
where? I
guess that was more than a few questions. Thank you for your patience with
my newbie-ness.
Erin
