I was in Brownstown a couple of weeks ago and went to both the court house
and the genealogy society which is close by. I did find the land records in
the genealogy society but not in the court house. I believe you will need
to go to Shelbyville off of the expressway(65) to get those records if I am
correct. I would highly recommend the genealogy society library. It is
small but packed with lots of information and filled with real friendly and
helpful persons.

Subject: [INJACKSO] Brownstown Courthouse Records
Can anyone tell what type of records exist at the county courthouse
in
Brownstown? I am especially interested in land records. I am trying to
build a case to prove the connection betweeen my ggrandfather and
gggrandfather. Since I'm taking a research trip to Indiana from Texas
next month, I'd appreciate any helpful hints you can give me about
existing records in Jackson County. Thank you for your help.
