Dennis,
I've been able to find any number of land records at the courthouse in
Brownstown where, by the way, they have to be kept.
After some remodelling at the Brownstown courthouse a couple of years ago a
number of the older records were moved to the basement. Did you check
there?

I was in Brownstown a couple of weeks ago and went to both the court
house
and the genealogy society which is close by. I did find the land records
in
the genealogy society but not in the court house. I believe you will
need
to go to Shelbyville off of the expressway(65) to get those records if I
am
correct. I would highly recommend the genealogy society library. It
is
small but packed with lots of information and filled with real friendly
and
helpful persons.
