Roberta, (and all)
Folks are actually asking that the words "IN-JACKSON" show up when you are
looking at your entire list of mail that has been received--before you ever
click on a mail to see what it is. Many lists do this. I prefer lists set this
way. I know that I regularly delete mail that I might have wanted to see because
I don't know that it is from the Jackson co list and only catch up later when
someone adds a title that makes me aware that it is from the list. (Such as
"Lett family in Jackson co IN").
For instance your mail showed up in my new mail as:
New Mail Date Email Address Subject
6/14/2004 rwillet@northand Re:Heading of Jackson Co
Items
IF the Jackson co list used subject headings, it would have read
New Mail Date Email Address Subject
6/14/2004 rwillet@northand [IN-Jackson] Re:Heading of
Jackson Co Items
If the list manager does not want to change the list to have the [IN-JACKSON]
at the beginning of each subject line, we could all just agree to put
"INJKSN" at the beggining of our subject lines when we submit an email. That
would
work for all but newbies, who wouldn't know to do it...It does limit the number
of characters that we can use, but is a possible solution.

I get "INJACKSON-D-request(a)rootswebb.com in my heading in my list of e-mails
received. What more would you want? Maybe your server does things a little
differntly than mine, but I can recognize my mail right away. Michigan
