Billie;
Thanks for the posted material. It would be nice to post the material on the births to the
surname lists of the new baby even thou no first name was given.
There by those who have a person born in the area would have a newspaper notice of birth
if they never even had a date could follow it with other info and have it.
I enjoyed it. Above ref; to Billie's newspaper posting before.
My Message to all and Billie;
I been looking for one of my grt Aunts.
Emanuel Brannan mar a Mary (unk. last name), before 1856 as on Ia. State 1856 census in
home of his parents, ( Moses and Cassandra Brannan(on), with a Mary as wife, no ch. in
Marengo, Iowa Co Ia..
Believed they mar. in Jackson Co. Ind. before or abt 1850. as no marriage turned up with
records checked in Marengo, Ia.
Is there any record of a Emanuel ( Mike?) Brannan and a Mary unk maiden name of
marriage in Jackson Co Ind before or after 1850 .?????
They were in the Honey Lake (or Creek) area , Plumas Co. Ca. abt 10 miles from
Susanville, Lassen Co .Ca. on 1860 Fed. census there. May have been in Dansville or
W(M)illard are???. as close to Honey Lake.
Mary Brannan is believed to have died there, Plumas Co. Ca. or maybe in Susanville Ca
.after census in 1860, Plumas Co. Ca. where she is listed with Emanuel (Mike) Brannan,
but before Oct 1862 as Emanuel Brannan marries to a Millie Maxine Rooks on 30 Oct 1862
in Susanville, Ca.
I have had the cem. records in Susanville checked but many unmarked graves and none
otherwise with her name on it. She could have died in the Plumas Co. of Honey Lake
area ,Ca but no response from Emails to area. so far.
I wonder if there was any newspapers of the time in either area that may have
mentioned her passing???
Since they didn't have a record of any ch. before it is possible that she did get PG
and it was cause of death by Tubal PG or possible birth with both dying.
Someone said that the Marysville newspaper carried news of maybe Lassen and or Plumas at
the time. Any one know of newspapers.????
I am also looking for the marriage record of Emanuel Brannan and Millie Maxine Rooks
in Susanville as at the time he may have operated or owned the Brannan Boarding House in
Susanville, Ca. Seems like surely if so there would have been a big party or some kind
of celebration. My grandmother Effie Cora Brannan , a dau. of Emanuel and Mary
married John Robert Barnett in 1900 in Colfax,Wa.
I think census of Ia. State, 1856 said she was b in ILL.???? but Ca census said another
place????
Can anyone help me here???
