Robert L. Fish February 22, 1924 - March 5, 2004
Robert L. Fish, 80, Fishers and formerly of Fairborn, Ohio, died at noon Friday, March 5,
2004, at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Fish was a member of Cumberland Road
Christian Church, Fishers, and had served in the United States Air Force as a second
lieutenant during World War II with the 454th Bomb Group. He was an avionics and
electrical engineer. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1985. He was a
member of Washington Lodge 13 Free and Associated Masons, Brownstown. He graduated from
Purdue University in 1951 with a degree in engineering.
Born Feb. 22, 1924, at Norman, he was a son of Landon Fish and Rosa Edna Williams Fish.
He is survived by a sister, Margaret Walsh, Indianapolis; seven nephews, James McPike,
Ronnie Fish, Jerry Spurgeon, and Michael, Steve, Tim and Byron Sanders; four nieces,
LaDonna Helms, Cheryl Black, Sharon Curry and Leslie Walsh; and several great nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Fish; and four sisters, Helen
McPike, Mary Davis, Virginia Spurgeon and Bonnie Sanders.
Jeff Conrad will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home,
Brownstown, with interment at Liberty Cemetery, Norman. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8
p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials
may be made to the American Heart Association or to Liberty Cemetery.
