According to the cemetery book for Mt. Pleasant...there were no HOEVENER'S listed as buried there. Does not mean that there isn't as I have a few names which are buried in the cemetery which don't show up in the listing. I did find a Frederick and Anna Howener buried in the Sauers/St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Washington Township. Laurie Carpenter

I came across this reference on the web and would like to confirm the information that Richard M McCasland and some of his family are buried in Grassy Cemetery.
Historical and Genealogical Record Pertaining to Jackson County,
Indiana. Volume I. Published by Fort Vallonia Chapter of The DAR, 1952.
Cemetery Records, p. 134
Grassy Cemetery
Vernon Township
McCASLAND,
Infant, s. RM & ME, 9/10/1861-2/16/1862
Matilda E., w. RM, d. 1/16/1862, age 26y 4m 3d
R. M., 137th Ind. Inf., (no date)
Also I posted earlier about Richard's parents, George Shillideay McCasland and his wife Rachel (Laws) McCasland. Could they be buried in this cemetery also?
Thank you for your help.
Lois
