Hello List,
My main search are for Langley's. My Langley's came from Shelby Co. KY to
Indiana abt 1820. First to Harrison County... then on to Jackson Co. My
Elisha Langley is related to Jeremiah Langley whom I have also posted
information on following Elisha. It seems some of Jeremiah's family may
have settled around Elisha and Fanny Langley. So here goes... It is a long
one.
Elisha Langley b abt 1770 where is also unknown... is the oldest known for
my Langley's.
1795 - Lincoln Co KY - Elisha - Tax List
1797 - Shelby Co KY - Elisha m. Jane Shepherd
1800 - Shelby Co KY - Elisha - Tax List

to
Fanny to raise.
1850 - Fanny - Hancock Co IL Census p. 298
1859 - Son Lemuel Harvey m. Arilla Budd, Hancock Co IL
1866 - Son Lemuel Harvey m. Mrs. Mary Reynolds, Hancock Co IL
I have found on an 1830 census an Eli Langley in Licking Co Ohio living next
to a Joseph Langley. Neither are the correct ages for my above family, but
I highly suspect they are closely related.
There is a Nancy Langley that married a Shelton in Muhlenberg Co KY that was
married by Lemuel Harvey mentioned below. This Nancy is suspect to be one
of Elisha's daughter from his first marriage to Jane Shepherd.
NOTE: Jeremiah Langley of Muhlenberg KY is most likely a brother to Elisha.

Hello Everyone,
I am researching the surnames WEATHERS and RICH in Jackson County, IN.
Jacob R RICH b. abt. 1816 in OH d. 12/20/1887 McCameron Twp, Martin County, IN
Rebecca WEATHERS b. bet. 1810-1820 in IN or OH d. bet. 9/5/1850-9/17/1854
Jacob and Rebecca were married on 10/12/1838 in Jackson County, IN.
Jacob was a shoemaker in Brownstown, according to the 1850 Census for Jackson County. Any info on his parents would be very welcome.
I have also been trying to determine the parents of Rebecca WEATHERS. There are a few possibilities in the 1830 Census for Jackson County; there was a John and a Robert WEATHERS in Jackson County that fit the time frame.
Jacob also married Margaret STILLWELL in Jackson County on 9/17/1854 and Mary HOLT in Martin County, IN on 8/13/1867.
Visit my website at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb/com/~ccourty for more info. Any assistance with these individuals would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping a WEATHERS or RICH researcher can help me fill in the blanks on Jacob and Rebecca.
Thanks,
Christine
I have seen Shoemaker name several times in this roll call. Does anyone know of Josiah Shoemaker, and Leonard Shoemaker. One of them married a Lucretia Crumb about 1822.
Thanks

I have COX and MAHAN also....Jonathon Cox married Sarah "Sally" Mahan.
Any idea what part of Kentucky James Wells was from?
I have an Elizabeth Wells who married an Isham Lett in Harrison county, KY in
1811 and moved to Jennings county before 1819, when their son John H Lett was
born. An older son was said to have been born 1813 in KY.
Isham Lett married Elizabeth Wells 24 Jan 1811 in Harrison co, Ky.
Thomas Wells signed as bondsman, John Conner was minister. Thomas Wells was
in Harrison co KY tax list beginning 1799 on Raven Creek; in 1815, Thomas Wells
married for a second time to Susannah Lightfoot, widow of Phillip Lightfoot
and became the guardian of her 6 minor children by Phillip in 1816. There are 5
marriages performed in Harrison county by John Conner from 1808 to 1814 for
Wells people that may be siblings of Elizabeth . William Wells to Elizabeth
Northcutt 1808, Herbert Wells and Jenny Carrick 1810, John Wells and Betsy
Lancaster 1813, Phoebe Wells and Charles Boner, 1814.
Do you know if/how your James is related to James Wells (wife named
Elizabeth, children Marency & WIlliam) who lived near Benjamin RANDALL in Jennings co
IN the 1850 census?
Or to William Wells and wife Charity Arbuckle?
Or to Samuel Wells the carpenter of Paris, Jennings, IN?
Or to William Wells and wife Martha, with daughter Charity?
Do any of these names relate to your family?
