Hi, Sherri....
And, thanks. I've tried the search, got not much.......at any rate, I'm
wondering if Jackson is a township in Harrison Co.........
Sally
In a message dated 00-01-25 10:33:48 EST, you write:
<< I also need help in locating the Hursttown cemetery in Jackson Co. I

I have not heard of "Hursttown" either as a cemetery or anything else, in
Jackson county...Is there a Hursttown (city?) in Jackson county?
I know that there were many Hurst families in Harrison county, near Crandall
(I have a friend who has that family name and researches them), but hadn't
realized there were many Hursts in Jackson co.
When I need to search for somewhere with an unknown location, I use the
address below

I hope this helps !

Hi,
I'm looking for information on the Emley/Emly/Emily, Longacre and Applegate
families of the Jackson Co. area in the 1800s. John Henry Emly, b. around
1835 or so, married Isabella Charlet Longacre in the 1850s in the Jackson Co.
or Harrison Co. area. Their son, James Albert Emly, m. Ida Mae Applegate,
also in one of these counties. I cannot get beyond these people with any
certainty about the origins of the families.
I also need help in locating the Hursttown cemetery in Jackson Co. I
believe John Henry and Isabella are buried there.
Thanks
Sally Kasey Emily
I may have asked this before.........are there any records for deaths
occurring in the county between 1851 and 1854??
Any help would be appreciated......
Janet
I can help you...You are speaking of Don Lyman Bailey, and he is a terrific
guy, indeed...very interested in the family history and very willing to share
information. The last email address I have for him is:
DLymanB(a)aol.com
snail address is Don Bailey 912-16th Avenue, Seattle WA 98122
I sent him the photocopies from the book---and I still owe him a few pages of
the index, I think....

Hello all,
I am looking for a man that recently helped me immensely with my Ruddick
family research. To make a long story short I lost my email, which was my
only link with him and I had to change email addresses so he would be unable
to contact me either.
This fellow has the initials D.S. I believe and I think I remember he is
from the Pacific Northwest. He has a photocopy of John Hanneman's book,
Ruddicks in America which he photocopied again and Express mailed to me in
Toronto, Canada last summer.
The only other information I have is that I believe that he is researching
the Cox, Stanfield, Dannettelle and Roeger families of Jackson County.
I have never had a chance to thank him or to reimburse him for his
significant expenses, and I would very much like to rectify this,
unfortunately he never wrote a return adddress on the package.
If you are my friend or you know of him please contact me at this address or
tturnbull(a)barrick.com
Thank you, Trevor Turnbull

Dear Listers,
I apologize if you are not interested in the Zike or Poor Families. This
posting is rather long with the family data text I will include at the end.
I am still looking for primary proof records for parentage of William Zike
and Samuel Poor. Samuel's father Wendell died intestate without a will and
no probate was done in the county where he is buried. I am hoping to find a
death record for Samuel stating his parents names. I don't know much about
Jackson County and how good the records are. Can anyone give me an idea how
to obtain a death record for Samuel Poor, he would have died in the 1890's,
probably in Freetown. His wife Julia Ann (Winninger) Poor died in 1910 in
Iowa, she is buried next to her son James H Poor at Blockton, Taylor County,
Iowa. If anyone can help with this it sure would be appreciated.

Does anyone know who or what The Davidson County Rangers were.
Does anyone know who and what Lieut Walkers Rangers were. Both are shown as
for The territory South of The Ohio, so Iassume they were a band of Peace
keepers or Indian Fighters due the time period. I am seeking information on
a George NUTTERFIELD who signed on as a private in 1792. Where were they
formed? Where did they recruit. I do know that George settled in Shelby Co,
Ky as early as 1790. I am seeking any information. George is shown on FTM
records as Revolutionary War 1780-1789, but, the only record I have, so far
is with the 2 above units. I asume that the Davidson County referred is
Davidson County Tn, as I dont know of another at that time. Or, it could
have been the home of Lt Walker. I have tried Ky archives and Nashville
archives, But, my experience is very Limited on records like these, so I
probably didnt do it right.I have been seeking info on George for about 30
years, so, naturally, I would be thrilled and appreciative for any
info.George is also shown as George NUTTERFEE/NUTTER, on various records,
and married Nancy Stepp McWilliams June 1804 in Shelby Co Ky.

I have no idea what township. I'm sorry! Wish I did.
Any help you can give me in 1880 or 1870 would be apprciated.
The only other Lockhart I have is Virgil b.1870 in Jackson Co. Can you find
him in the 1880 census at age 9 or 10? Virgil is Margaret's brother. She
would be 1 in 1870 and 11 in 1880.
Thanks for trying to help.

Hi Sharin. Yes I have the 1870 in Index form. I
also have access to the 1880 census microfilm.
For 1870, there is only a single person LOCKHART
of any spelling, Sam age 26
living in Driftwood Twp, a grocer retailer
I'll be happy to look for Margaret for you if you can
tell me where to look (Township) in the 1880 Census.

Margaret Elizabeth would of been 1 year old. Parents unknown.
Do you have the 1880 one also? Or where can it be found?
Sharon
>>Hmm, I have the Transcribed Census for 1870 for Jackson County, Indiana.
Who are you looking for?<<
I wasn't the original poster, but I'd love to find the family of Amos and
Sarah NEWTON, specifically their daughter Martha NEWTON (Canady), if you
have time to check.
Thanks!
