I've "rescued" an old photograph of Malisse PEIGH which was taken at the
Thomas V. Eby Studio in Huntington, Indiana. The photograph appears to have
been taken in the 1880's with Malisse likely in her 20's or 30's at the time
it was taken. In addition to her name, someone has written "Cousin of J. D.
LININGES" on the back of the photograph. The cousins name is difficult to
read could be LISSINGER or LIVINGES, just not certain.
Based on limited research I was able to locate census records for this
family as follows:
1860 census of Jackson Township, IN:
Henry PEIGH, age 27, a Farmer, born OH
Elizabeth PEIGH, age 27, born OH
Mary M. PEIGH, age 4, born IN
Solomon PEIGH, age 17, a Farm Laborer, born OH
1870 census of Jackson Township, IN:
Henry PEIGH, age 38, a Farmer, born OH
Elizabeth PEIGH, age 38, Keeping House, born OH
Clara Mallissa PEIGH, age 14, at Home, born IN
George Albert PEIGH, age 9, Attending School, born IN
Catherine PEIGH, age 75, born PA
1880 census of Jackson, IN:
Henry PEIGH, age 48, a Farmer, born OH, parents born PA
Elizabeth PEIGH, wife, age 48, Keeps House, born OH, parents born PA
Mary M. PEIGH, dau, age 24, at Home, born IN
Albert PEIGH, son, age 19, a Farm Laborer, born IN
Catherine PEIGH, mother, age 82, boarding, born PA, parents born Germany
I am hoping to locate someone from this PEIGH Family so that this wonderful
old photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a
member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
