Mrs. Charles Poorman, age forty-seven died Friday at her home in in Markle after an
illness of eight years of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Poorman was married to Charles
Poorman January 25, 1896, and four daughters were born to them. The family moved to Markle
from south of that place about six months ago.
Surviving are the husband, the daughters, Mrs. Cloyd Lee and Mrs. Carl Baker of Fort
Wayne, Mrs. Wallace Heaston of near Markle and Mrs. Earl Waters of Markle; a sister, Mrs.
John Poorman of Fort Wayne; a brother, Charles Thorpe(sic) of Buckeye, and five
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Markle Church of the Brethren,Sunday at 1:30 with
the Rev. D. B. Garber officiating, and internment will be at Lancaster.
submitter's note: Lucy Ella Mae Tharp was the daughter of John Wesley Tharp and
Margaret R. Armacost. My husband is a direct descendant.
