Mrs. Della Geeting Sisk, 65, Sidney, Ind., a native of this city, her husband, Alfred
Sisk, 67, sawmill and garage owner and operator in Sidney, and Mrs. Etta Babbitt, 67,
Perry, Iowa, cousin of Mr. Sisk, were killed, and Mrs. Bertha Bills, also of Perry, a
sister of Mrs. Babbitt, was injured Wednesday when the Sisk car, driven by the owner,
rammed into the rear of a truck at Beaver, Iowa.Mrs. Sisk was killed instantly and the
others died enroute to a hospital. The four were enroute to Minnesota on a vacation trip,
an extension of a trip for the Sidney couple which started 10 days ago when they went to
Iowa.
Bodies of the Sisks were brought to the Miller funeral home in South Whitley Thursday
morning by plane. Funeral ar rangements await the arrival of a son, Wallace, member of
the U. S. navy stationed at Almeda, Calif., at the home of his grandfather, Joseph
Geeting, and his cousin, Mrs. Russell Bowman, 204 South Briant street, this city.
Mrs. Sisk was Miss Della Geeting, born February 22, 1885, in this city to Joseph and Mary
Poorman Geeting. She was married to Alfred Sisk about 28 years ago and moved to Sidney,
where Mr. Sisk has been in business many years. Surviving are the father, who lives with
Mrs. Bowman, the son, and Mrs. Bowman, a niece.
Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Sisk, killed in an automobile accident in Iowa
Wednesday, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Miller funeral home in South Whitley.
Burial will be in the South Whitley cemetery.
Mrs. Sisk is the former Della Geeting of Huntington.
