Harmon W. Jacobs

Resident of 806 Ogan Ave, for the last 33 years, Harmon W. Jacobs 83, died at 5:45 a.m.
Saturday in Clinic Hospital, Bluffton, where he had been a patient since August 31. He had
been in failing health since July 12.
Mr. Jacobs who was a retired shoemaker since 1953 was born June 19, 1882, in Huntington
Township to Henry and Louisa Lauderman Jacobs. His marriage was to Mabel I. Barker on
October 2, 1907, in Huntington Township.
A lifelong resident of Huntington County, Mr. Jacobs was a member of the St. Peter's
United Church of Christ, the Men's Brotherhood and the Cum-Joy-Nus Class of the
Church.
Surviving are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. William (Ann Mae) Eichman, Forth Wayne , four
grandchildren, Mrs. Robert (Jane Ann) Hullinger, Bluffton, who was reared in the Jacobs
home; Robert Galbreath, U.S. Navy, New London, Conn: Richard Galbreath and Mrs. James(Ann)
Steckbeck, both of Fort Wayne, and seven great grandchildren. A son, Harold II Jacobs,
died January 29 of this year.
Mr. Jacobs was the last of his family, five brothers and four sisters having preceded him
in death. Friends may call in the Robbins Funeral Home were funeral services will be at
10:30 a.m. Monday with Rev. Ernest Klein, pastor of St. Peter's United Church in
Christ officiating. Preferred memorial are requested to the Huntington County Cancer
Fund.
