Charles Jacobs

Charles Jacobs, age 70, lifetime resident of Huntington County died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday
at his home on West Walnut Street extended following two weeks illness. He declined slowly
after a suffering paralytic stroke Wednesday morning.
Mr. Jacobs was born March 31, 1869 in Jackson Township to Henry and Louisa Jacobs. He
never married.
Surviving are two brothers, George Jacobs and Harmon Jacobs, both of this city; a sister,
Mrs. Sarah Simmons, city, and the following nephews and nieces: Harold Jacobs, Anna Mae
Galbreath, Jessie Rittenhouse, Lawrence Horn, Mrs. Willard McIlwraith, Mrs. Jessie Smith,
Clinton Simmons, Mrs. Leo Pegan, Mrs. William Bellam, Marion Ryan, and Miss Helen Ryan.
Three brothers, Henry, Samuel, and Peter Jacobs, and three sisters, Mrs. Amanda Horn, Mrs.
Mary Ryan and Catherine Jacobs, preceded him in death.
He was a member of the St. Peter's Reformed Church. The body was taken to the Bailey
Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. R. B.
Meckstroth officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed Cemetery.
