Nancy Mae Campbell, 74, of Bluffton, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at her residence.
She had been in failing health the past six months and death was attributed to cancer.
Born in Liberty Center Sept. 17, 1929 to Roy Leon and Aenone Smith Mossburg, she married
B.K. Campbell in Fort Wayne Feb. 3, 1951. He survives.
A 1947 graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne, she studied at Indiana
University. Mrs. Campbell retired in 1992 after an 18-year career as a laboratory
secretary with the Caylor-Nickel Research Institute.
She sold Avon, was a Welcome Wagon hostess and volunteered for the past 15 years at the
Wells County Food Bank. A life-time member of the Tri-Kappa Sorority, she had served as
president of the local chapter and as a delegate to the state convention. She was also a
member of the WOW Women's Bridge Club and when her children were small, she was active
in the PTA and Girl Scouts.
She attended Life Community Church.
Survivors include three sons, Rick of Bluffton, James A. of Leo, and David K., of
Loveland, Col.; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Judy Ann) Kruspig and Mrs. Randall (Dian)
Steffen, both of Fort Wayne; a brother, Dale Mossburg of Lake Odessa, Mich., and 12
grandchildren.
Services at 3 p.m. Thursday at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home will be
officiated by Ted Ellis with burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
