Thank you for your reply. I am still having a difficult time accepting the potential
ramifications of this divorce and my Y-DNA test results. So far I've really only had
one significant match, and it happens to be "the doozie'.
As disappointing as the situation is, I really just want to learn the truth. I can live
to accept my ancestry may not be what I've come to believe through my years of
research, but it will bother me beyond belief if I am never able to confirm my suspicions.
The kicker is there are cousins across the country, who if were tested, could confirm or
refute my biological relationship to them, in turn, providing me the proof I need to truly
know my ancestry. Problem is, I can't get them to respond to my inquiry. It's a
slippery slope in this day and age to ask someone (a complete stranger) to undergo a DNA
test!
Thanks again for the divorce info. I'm not sure even if I find the record if it will
help. I know the marriage could only have lasted 3 to 7 years.
