Wilbert J. "Bud" Detamore, age 79, of Andrews, Indiana died at 10:43 p.m.
Wednesday (July 23, 2008) at his home residence.
Mr. Detamore was a lifetime resident of Huntington County and worked 24 years for the
Huntington County Highway Department retiring in 1993. He was a Staff Sergeant during
W.W. II with the United States Air Force. Bud was a member of the American Legion Post #
85 in Huntington and the Andrews Church of the Brethren.
He was born on May 3, 1928 in Huntington County the son of Jasper L. and Bessie (Thrift)
Detamore. He married Phyllis I. Bigelow on December 22, 1951 in Andrews, and she preceded
him in death on December 25, 2005.
Survivors include his sister - Betty Dye of Kokomo. He was preceded in death by sister
Donna Dee Detamore Poulson and brother Gary Detamore. He is survived by an aunt, cousins
nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3 -7 p.m. Sunday (July 27, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Monday (July 28, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor
Jerry Felts officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County with
the V.F.W. Post #2689 performing the military graveside rites.
Memorials may be made to the Parkview Home Health Care & Hospice in care of
Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive Huntington, IN.
