Hi, Shelley,
You might try susienmax(a)gmail.com. This is the address for Susie Bechtol, with
whom I attended school in Grant County, IN, in the 1950's and '60's. I
don't
know if Susie would be interested in the photo, but she might know of a family
member who would like to have it.
Findagrave.com shows that the graves of James Thompson Biggerstaff and his 2nd
wife are in Falls Memorial Garden Cemetery, Wabash, IN. I did not find a grave
for 1st wife Isabelle there (which does not mean that it is not there.) James'
obituary is on his FAG listing and it gives several family surnames and
locations for his children.
It's good of you to try to return this photo to this family!
Bobbi

Subject: [INHUNT] BECHTOL - BIGGERSTAFF Family Photograph
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mrs. J. T. (Isabelle BECHTOL)
BIGGERSTAFF which was taken at the Williams Studio in Wabash, Indiana. In
addition to her names, someone has also written "Lee BIGGERSTAFF'S Mother"
and "Died 2/12/1894" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited
research I was able to gather the following additional information regarding
Isabelle and her family as follows:
Mary Isabelle BECHTOL was b. 24 Apr 1854 Wabash Co. IN to parents Nelson
BECHTOL (b. Aug 1820 in Morgan Co. VA now WV - d. 1903) and Rebecca Ruth
TYNER (b. Jun 1835 in Harrison Township, IN - d. 1918). Mary Isabelle was
one of 6 children born to this couple including, David; Eugene; George;
Milton; William; and Mary Isabelle BECHTOL.
Mary Isabelle married James Thomas BIGGERSTAFF MD (b. Sept 1852 in Pickaway
Co. OH) on 6 Sept 1876 and together they had 8 children including, James
Raymond; Leona or Leone V.; Ruth R.; and Bessie; Earl; Clark; Lee; and
Florence BIGGERSTAFF all born between 1876 and 1891. In 1880 the family was
living in North Grove, IN.
Mary Isabelle BECHTOL BIGGERSTAFF d. 12 Feb 1894.
Daughter Florence b. 5 Sept 1891 in Indiana married into the BELL Family and
died in Los Angeles, CA on 8 Jul 1990.
Census records provide the following details:
1900 census of Warren Township, IN: in the house of Joseph & Eva BOWMAN
Lee BIGGERSTAFF, age 10, born Sept 1889, a Servant in House, born IN,
parents born OH/IN, at School
1920 census of Daste, MT:
Lee BIGGERSTAFF, age 30, born IN, parents born OH/IN, a Farmer
Josphine BIGGERSTAFF, wife, age 26, born NE, parents born Germany
Betty BIGGERSTAFF, dau, age 1 year + 8 months, born MT
I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be
returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know
someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
