Howard M. Shultz, 65 of 205 Wright Street, retired employee of Harry's Tire Shop, died
at 7:45 a.m. Sunday in Huntington County Hospital after an illness of two years. He was
seriously ill since December 8, 1962.
Mr. Shultz, who lived in the Huntington community most of his life and at the Wright
Street address since 1945, was born January 15, 1896, in Huntington County to Elmer E. and
Emma shanks Shultz. He married Bertha M. Schoch October 31, 1920.
Surviving are the widow, and a brother, Charles Shultz of Knapp Lake near Cromwell. A
sister Mrs. Nathan (Mable) Wiley is dead. Mr. Shultz was City Water Works Superintendent
in 1941 an 1942. He had worked for 25 years at the tire shop prior to his retirement a
year ago.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church.Friends may call in the Bailey Mortuary
where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel with the Rev. L.G.
Sapp officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery at Ossian.
