William H. Bellam, 81, 316 N. Lafontaine St., died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday ( August 11, 1987)
at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bellam retired April 16, 1971, from the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad, where he worked as a
conductor for 42 years. He was a member of the Central Christian Church and the Erie
Veterans.
Mr. Bellam was born April 6, 1906, in Winston-Salem, N.C. to Clarence E. and Willie
Mitchell Bellam. He married on Oct. 12, 1935 in Covington, Mary Louise Ryan, who
survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janice Bellam, Huntington, and Mr. Ronald ( Patricia )
Hall, Huntington; two brothers, Fred Bellam, Fort Wayne, and Clarence W. Bellam,
Huntington; one sister , Mrs. Swanora Saal, Huntington; and two granddaughters.
Friends may call at Hart Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour
before the funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday at Central Christian Church, with the Rev.
Dr. J. Maurice Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Central Christian Church Foundation or to Huntington home
Health Care.
